Becoming a member of the Kansas Taekwondo Association is an exciting opportunity for a taekwondo school or club. You will be joining an association that is solely focused on helping athletes achieve their goals and for martial artist to expand their knowledge base through seminars, workshops and events. The Kansas Taekwondo Assocation prides itself on hosting quality events with good participation, professional judging, and great opportunities to compete and learn. All tournaments and most other events are also USAT Sanctioned.
Membership requirements for 2011 are listed below. The invitation to join the Kansas Taekwondo Association will be delivered to qualified clubs after the 2011 State Championship. If you did not qualify for membership in 2010 but would like to be a member for the remainder of this year please contact our membership chairman for information.
2010 – 2011 State Club Requirements
(runs from march – february)
- Be a registered USAT School (must provide copy of the current club membership certificate)
- Support the 2010 Kansas State Championship with at least 10 participants*
- Cannot be associated with any other current State Taekwondo Association
- Nominate one person from the interested club to serve in a develop committee
2011 – 2012 State Club Requirements
(runs from march – february)
- Be a registered USAT School (must provide copy of the current club membership certificate)
- Have at least 35 USAT Members (must provide a copy of USAT club insurance)
- Support the 2011 Kansas State Championship with at least 15 participants*
- Cannot be associated with any other current State Taekwondo Association
- Nominate one person from the interested club to serve in a develop committee
*participant is a athlete, coach or referee
Option 2 Affiliated Club Requirements
Annual Club Membership Fee of $150
Be a registered USAT School (must provide copy of the current club membership certificate)
Support the 2011 Kansas State Championship
Cannot be associated with any other current State Taekwondo Association
Important Notes
In order to qualify athletes for Kansas State Team, the athletes club must be affiliated with the Kansas Taekwondo Association. In order to receive the club benefits, clubs would need to hold a current KTA membership. Clubs and athletes do not need to be affiliated in order to participate in the state association events but there are other requirements which are listed below.
To participate in the Kansas State Championship, coaches and athletes must have a current membership with USA Taekwondo (found here). To participate in the Winter Classic Taekwondo Tournament, coaches and athletes must have either a current membership with USA Taekwondo or purchase a day membership to USA Taekwondo in order to register for the event. Any USA Taekwondo Sanctioned Seminars or events that the Kansas Taekwondo Association host will require its participants to be USA Taekwondo members.
