KTA "Winter Challenge" Tournament

General Information

The 2010 Winter Challenge is held at the Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, KS December 4th, 2010. Anyone wishing to participate will need be a 2010 USA Taekwondo members or purchase a USAT $5 day pass to be eligible to participate. This event will have divisions beginning at age 6 for all belt colors and offers sparring and sport poomsae competitions.

SPARRING

All junior and senior color belt, 6-13 year old black belt and ultra sparring will be a single elimination bracket format with awards going to 1st-3rd places, there will be two 3rd place awards handed out.

The 14-17 junior and senior black belt sparring will compete in a DOUBLE ELIMINATION bracket format with the winners from each weight category and division advancing to the Winter Challenge Championship Division if they choose. The Winter Challenge Championship Division will be a SINGLE ELIMINATION bracket with the WINNERS competing regardless of their weight categories. The winner of the Winter Challenge Championship Division will receive THEIR FREE REGISTRATION at the 2011 Kansas State Championship.

The Kansas Taekwondo Association reserves the right to combine or split categories as needed.

FORMS

All forms will be divided by age, belt ranking, weight and gender and will be judged on Official USAT Sport Poomsae Rules. The Official form for this competition will be those recognized by USA Taekwondo and the World Taekwondo Federation. All poomsae competitors must weigh-in. Competition will be SINGLE ELIMINATION. The Kansas Taekwondo Association reserves the right to combine weight categories at anytime. Winners from theses divisions from each weight category advancing to the Poomsae Grand Championship Division if they choose. The Poomsae Grand Championship Division will be a SINGLE ELIMINATION bracket with the WINNERS competing regardless of their age, weight and belt categories. The winner of the Poomsae Grand Champion will win a special award.
